Ink on Paper
This exhibit, curated by Anchor Graphics, features the work of 6 contemporary Chicago printmakers. The works included are intended to represent the diversity and depth found within the medium today. Both subject matter and modes of production very widely. Included in this exhibition are examples of more traditional styles including woodcut portraits as well as those incorporating contemporary technologies, like digitally manipulated imagery and inkjet printing. Contemporary printmakers often use both the old and the new as tools in the creation of their art. As a result the medium is constantly evolving and remains as vital today as when the first prints were made over a thousand years ago.
Sean Keenan, Francisco Ramirez, and Ricardo Xavier Serment Leyva are printmaking students at Columbia College Chicago. Andrew Blackley and Micah Bornstein are former Anchor Graphics interns. Andrea Schumacher is Columbia College’s student printshop manager.
